Hello Michael

I have an Anglo Marine Wanderer but, similarly, it initially had just a bolt through the track aft of the mast. In order to position the mast properly, I made a wooden block to fit inside the track and held it using a nut & bolt through track holes and wood. I also made another similar block of wood to fit forward of the mast but it’s held in place with a simple L shaped metal rod through the track holes and wood.

Once the forward block is in place, the mast foot is held in the correct fore and aft postion. To lower the mast I simply remove the rod and block forward of the mast, insert the tabernacle pivot, then lower the mast.

Hope this helps.
