Wanderer North 2026 (Derwentwater)
Wanderer North – Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September 2026
Derwentwater Marina, Portinscale, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 5RF
Enjoy two days late summer sailing on Derwentwater, one of the Lake District’s most iconic lakes. Overlooked by Skiddaw with the Cats Bell ridge to the west the scenery is simply stunning.
We will be based at Derwentwater Marina at the north end of the lake. Each day we hope to sail to a beach for a picnic lunch. Alternatively, there are beaches with a café or pub nearby which we can walk to. We may try an informal race using the lake’s islands as markers.
You could combine the weekend’s sailing with a longer holiday in the Lake District or try sailing in other lakes.

Nearby Accommodation
There is plenty of accommodation nearby including a caravan site, camping, self-catering, guest houses, hotels and a youth hostel in Keswick. The Marina have self- catering accommodation though this tends to get booked up early.
Evening Activities
Each evening, we plan to meet up in a pub for a meal.

You MUST obtain the free EVENT PARTICIPATION ticket (in addition to the purchases from the Marina) with the necessary declarations completed.
