This would involve tidying away bed rolls etc during the day. There are limited kitchen facilities -kettle\, microwave\, hob\, oven\, small fridge and freezer\, crockery/cutlery etc \n  \nCampervans – There is space for several motorhomes next to the clubhouse. RULES \n  \n1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing \n1.2 The RYA prescriptions to the Racing Rules of Sailing will apply \n1.3 The Sailing Instructions will apply \n1.4 Racing rule 40 will be changed – Use of personal buoyancy \nWhen on the water competitors shall wear adequate personal buoyancy. \n1.5 The organising authority is Cramond Boat Club \n  \n2. ADVERTISING \n  \nAdvertising will be designated as Category C. \n  \n3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY \n  \n3.1 The Wanderer Championship is open to any Wanderer Class dinghy sailed by a current member of the Wanderer Class Owners Association. The Cramond Boat Club fast and slow handicap classes are open to all members of a Forth Yacht Clubs Association affiliated club. The fast handicap is open to dinghies with an RYA 2026 PY number of 1103 and lower\, and the slow handicap is open to dinghies with a PY number of 1104 and above. \n3.2 All visiting competitors will be given temporary membership of Cramond Boat Club for the duration of the regatta  \n  \n4. ENTRY FEES \n  \nEntry Fees are as follows: \n£25 for Wanderer Class dinghies which includes safety cover for the pre-race lunch cruise on Friday 12 June and the Wanderer Scottish Championship  on 13-14 June \n£20 for double handed dinghies taking part in CBC fast/slow handicap classes on 13-14 June \n£15 for single handed dinghies taking part in the CBC  fast/slow handicap classes on 13-14 June \n£10 for dinghies sailed by cadets (under 18) in the CBC fast/slow handicap classes on 13-14 June \nEntry fees are paid by the Wanderer Class Owners Association for any boat sailed by a current WCOA member \nPlease complete the entry form to register\, and email to chris_callender@icloud.com. \n  \n5. SCHEDULE \n  \n5.1 All times are in BST \n5.2 We will attempt to run 3 races on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. High water is at 1342 (5.3m) on 13 June and 1437(5.5m) on 14 June. Races will be sailed back to back \n5.3 Registration at Cramond Boat Club between 10:00 and 10:30 on Saturday 13 June \n5.4 Competitors briefing in front of clubhouse on Saturday 13 June at 1045 and Sunday 14 June at 1145 \n5.5 The scheduled time of the first warning signal on Saturday 13 June at 1145 and on Sunday 14 June is at 1230 \n5.6 Racing is expected to be completed by 1600 on Sunday 14 June. \n5.7 It is expected that a prize giving ceremony will be held at ASAP after racing on Sunday 14 June \n5.8 Racing will take place at the same time as Cramond Boat Club open regatta\, with Fast\, Slow Handicap and Wanderer fleet starts. The Wanderer warning flag will be the Wanderer Association Class Flag.Numeral pennant 1 will be the warning flag for the fast handicap and numeral pennant 2 will be the warning flag for the slow handicap.Further details of race management will be provided in the sailing instructions. \n5.9 Schedule may be changed if needed. \n5.10 Announcements and results will be posted on the official notice board in the foyer of the clubhouse. \n  \n6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS \n  \nThe sailing instructions will be available on registration. \n  \n7. VENUE \n  \nThe Cramond Boat Club has its Clubhouse and moorings at the mouth of the River \nAlmond\, only 4 miles from the centre of Edinburgh. PENALTY SYSTEM   \n  \nThe penalties are as detailed in RRS 44 except that rule 44.3 shall not apply. \nThe Exoneration penalty (and the Advisory Hearing and RYA Arbitration procedures) \nof the RYA Rules Disputes Procedures will not be available. \n  \n10. SCORING  \n  \n11.1 The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply \n11.2 One race is required to be completed to constitute a series \n11.3 When fewer than 3 races have been completed\, a boat’s series score will be the \ntotal of her race scores. When 3 or more races have been completed\, a boat’s series score will be the total of their race scores excluding her worst score. \n  \n11. SUPPORT BOATS  \n  \nIndividual support boats are not allowed on the water. \n  \n12. RADIO COMMUNICATION  \n  \nExcept in an emergency\, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones. \n  \n13. PRIZES  \n  \nPrizes will be awarded to the leading boat and to a number of other boats at the discretion of the organisers. \n  \n14. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY  \n  \nCompetitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4\, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to\, during\, or after the regatta. \nSailing is by its nature an unpredictable sport and therefore inherently involves an element of risk. By taking part in the event\, each competitor agrees and acknowledges that: \n● they are aware of the inherent element of risk involved in the sport and accept responsibility for the exposure of themselves\, their crew and their boat to such inherent risk whilst taking part in the event; \n● they are responsible for the safety of themselves\, their crew\, their boat and their other property whether afloat or ashore; \n● they accept responsibility for any injury\, damage or loss to the extent caused by their own actions or omissions; \n● their boat is in good order\, equipped to sail in the event and they are fit to participate; \n● the provision of a race management team\, patrol boats and other officials and volunteers by the organiser does not relieve them of their own responsibilities; \n● the provision of patrol boat cover is limited to such assistance\, particularly in extreme weather conditions\, as can be practically provided in the circumstances; \n● it is their responsibility to familiarise themselves with any risks specific to this venue or this event referred to in the Sailing Instructions and to attend any safety briefing held at the venue. \n  \n15. INSURANCE  \n  \nEach participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £3 million per event or the equivalent. \n  \n16. SUMMARY:WCOA National Championship (shared with Wayfarers)
DESCRIPTION:The WCOA has again requested holding the Nationals at Whitstable YC. Let us hope that the fantastic conditions of the 2025 event\, shared very happily and successfully with Wayfarers\, may also be reproduced. With afternoon tides in Whitstable Bay there will be two races on the afternoons of each day (one discard of 4 races)\, with the starts shared with the Wayfarers 3 minutes before club series starts.
