WCOA - SAILING PROGRAMME FOR 2007 SEASON

2007 Programme: Your Committee's preparation's for the 2007 sailing season Programme are complete and the final programme is shown below. The Racing and Cruising Secretaries extend their thanks to the many Members who gave their time and input into making the 2006 programme a success and look forward to similar co-operation with the 2007 Sailing Programme.

Almanac: A downloadable copy of the WCOA 2007 Almanac & Programme, as issued with the spring Wanderer magazine in convenient double sided Tri-Fold format [.pdf file format], detailing the full programme, organiser's details and much more is available here - click here to download.

Event Enquiry Forms: The full event details and 'Request Event Information' forms were included within the 'Spring' issue of Wanderer Magazine which was distributed just after Easter April 2007. Additional copies of these forms are available here to download in MS Word.doc format.

Please support your Class Association by attending as many events as you are able. If you have any queries or concerns please discuss these directly with the organiser.

Training Day: The Training event, to be held May 12th - 13th 2007 at South Cerney SC, is particularly recommended to new Wanderer owners or those considering purchase of this dinghy. Over 50 individuals attended the 2006 Training Day. Professional training including boat handling, tuning and 'classroom' and 'on the water' is on offer. This event is recommended for all Wanderer owners whether cruiser, potterer or racer - so book early. The 'Try a Wanderer' event - open to all, including non WCOA members - will be run on the Saturday contact Mike Hamilton for details.

Dinghy Sailing Show: Details have been included for the RYA's "Dinghy Sailing Show" at Alexandra Palace for March 3/4th 2007. Tickets can be purchased via the hotline link quoted. The WCOA stand details will be added when known.

Every reasonable effort will be made to avoid conflicts within the Sailing Programme. However given the number of events, the reliance [in some instances] on suitable tides, availability of some venues and of course the time and involvement of the volunteer organiser it is not always possible to avoid clashes between some events. The Committee hope that this will not detract from the overall scope, variety and enjoyment of the 2007 Sailing Programme.

The following programme of racing and cruising events were updated on Sunday December 30, 2007. The programme is currently provisional and incomplete, we suggest that you check back here periodically for any announcements in the event of cancellation or additions. Please contact the organiser of the particular event for latest information, telephone, email and postal address details have been provided where possible. Please remember to enclose a SAE for postal enquiries.

The Committee would like to extend it's thanks to those Members and others who have, once again in 2006, volunteered to help organise our extensive sailing programme. We are always seeking new cruise / racing organisers and venues, if you feel able to assist in either of these rewarding activities or have any comments or suggestions please contact either Mike Hamilton or Tim Robertson respectively for racing and cruising.
