RYA Racing Charter
Competitors
should note that South Cerney Sailing Club has adopted the RYA Racing Charter
and that they will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the
Charter, which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book (Racing Rules
of Sailing 2005-2008, RRS), on the official South Cerney Sailing Club notice
board or at www.rya.org.uk/racing/charter.

Rules
Races will be governed by the ‘Rules’ as
defined in the RRS except as they are changed by the South Cerney Sailing Club sailing
instructions, class rules, the prescriptions of the RYA and this Notice of Race

Conditions of entry
3.1
The safety of
the boat and its entire management, including insurance shall be the sole
responsibility of the competitor(s) racing the boat.
3.2
All craft on
the club premises (on land and on the water) must have full insurance cover,
including third party liability to £2,000,000. All craft intended to be used
for racing must have appropriate insurance cover.
3.3
The race
organisers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, death or personal injury
howsoever caused to the owner/competitor, his skipper or crew, as a result of
their taking part in the race or races. Moreover, every owner/competitor
warrants the suitability of his craft for the race or races.
3.4
All competitors are required to comply with WCOA
Wanderer racing rules.

Organising authority
The organising authority is
South Cerney Sailing Club (SCSC) in association with the Wanderer Class Owners
Association (WCOA)).

Entry and registration
5.1
The entry fee
for the event will be £10.
5.2
Boats shall be
entered by completing an SCSC entry form and paying the associated entry fee.
5.3
Competitors
shall produce on request evidence of membership of the WCOA for both helm and
crew
6
Event and programme
6.1
There will be a
briefing for all competitors at 10.00 on Sunday 13 April.
6.2
Three races are scheduled of which a minimum of two
constitute a series. If three races are sailed two will count towards the
result. If only two races are sailed both will count towards the result.
6.3
The schedule of
races is as follows:

Advertising and sponsorship
Advertising will be restricted to Category A.

Measurement
All boats are required to comply with WCOA Wanderer
racing rules and sails are required to have been measured. All boats may be
subject to scrutiny and this will particularly apply to winning boats.
9
The course
The courses will be set on South Cerney Sailing Club
water.
10 Scoring
The low point scoring system and amendments as
detailed in section 19 of the South Cerney Sailing Club Sailing Instructions
will apply.
11 Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to each helm and crew in the first
three places or one-quarter of the boats taking part, rounded down to nearest
whole number if this is greater than 3.
