At BOSHAM SAILING CLUB
Saturday/Sunday APRIL 19th and 20th

Improve your boat handling/rigging with expert
tuition from Ian Porter
Come along and have fun
All Wanderer owners welcome
Meet other Wanderer owners,
hopefully learn something which you can put into practice during the rest of
the season.
Try a brand new Wanderer (or an old one!)
Starting at 10.30 on Saturday 19 April, Ian
will give a talk on boat handling. We
will progress to the water, when Ian will continue his advice and tuition. Bosham Sailing Club is on
the Quay, Bosham, Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 8LU.
There is a cruise
organised on Sunday 20 April in Chichester
Harbour, so come for the
weekend.

PROGRAMME FOR
SATURDAY 19TH APRIL
q
High tide is 1205
q
Event will take place at BOSHAM (NOT COBNOR)
q
Please arrive in good time, before 1030
q
For those with boats, go directly to dinghy park,
find a space and, if you have time, rig it.
Please try not to obstruct movement of boats and cars with your
mast. Your car must be removed to the
car park or other suitable space (but not on the shore line as your car will
get wet!)
q
We will start at 1030 with a talk by Ian Porter in the Clubhouse. There is no set agenda. He will determine on the day what Wanderer
owners want to know and tune his talk accordingly. But the theme will be boat handling
and better sailing techniques.
q
We will break at some stage to see a practical demonstration of rigging
and, for those who have not done so already, to give an opportunity to rig
boats.
q
Lunch will be at about 1230.
Bring your own or obtain from Club.
The Club will be forewarned, but you might have to wait for lunches.
q
We will aim to get on the water at 1330 for practice manoeuvres and
practical tuition from Ian. Short races
are an option.
q
We will aim to bring boats ashore at about 1600 and end the day with a
short debrief in the clubhouse.
q
Again, find a space in the dinghy park for your boat if you are staying
for the cruise on Sunday.
q
There will be a supper in the Club in the evening, 1900 for 1930.
There will be a
charge of £10 per boat for the training events (£2.50 each for those without boats).
Separate from the
training events, there will be an opportunity to “try a Wanderer”. There is no charge and trials will be
arranged throughout the day.
A brand new
Hartley Laminates Wanderer will be on show and available to try out.
