A 'CHARITY REGATTA' General Handicap open meeting is scheduled for the Bank
Holiday Weekend Sat 25th & Sun 26th August, and is organised by Carsington Sailing Club on their water at
Carsington, ASHBOURNE,
A
charity donation of £5/day per
person is suggested as a minimum for the meeting. Closing date for entries is n/a. Completed
entry forms (attached) together with a cheque made payable to Carsington Sailing Club should be sent to The Sailing
Secretary, Carsington Sailing Club, Carsington Water, Ashbourne, Derbyshire DE6
1SU ( pre-entries received by 31st
July, also payable on the day ). Booking-in will begin at 9.30am hrs and will be located in the clubhouse, where copies of the Open Meeting sailing instructions will be
available.
3 General Handicap races will be held on Saturday 25th August with separate starts for
the ( Cat/Dinghy fleet ) and the ( Cruiser fleet ). 3 GH races will be held on Sunday 26th August for both the Cat/Dinghy
and Cruiser fleets.
For
the duration of this event advertising will be designated Category C.
Saturday warning signal times are Cats &
Dinghies 11.00am & 1.30pm & 3.30pm. Sunday warning signal times are 11.00am & 1.30pm & 3.30pm.
Starting
sequence will be Cats &
Dinghies (5, 4, 1, Go) followed by the Cruiser
fleet start ( 5, 4, 1, Go ).

Prize Giving.
The
number of prizes will be dependant on the number of entries.

The windward-leeward-triangle port hand type course may be sailed if possible with the triangle completed first (Large orange inflatable unmarked buoys). However if the prevailing wind direction is difficult the race officer may change the course and use the numbered fixed club marks at his discretion. Actual course to be sailed will be displayed on the committee boat

Food will be available for purchase in the daytime from the galley in the clubhouse, during both days of the regatta.
Daytime Visitor parking will be available in the adjacent public car park once boats have been unloaded as the club parking is limited.
