Jan 14th -  2001 Sailing Programme updated to show Andy Peter as organiser/contact for the Lymington/Solent cruise on Sunday July 15th, WYC Championship added for May 26-28th and Robin Taylor nominated as revised contact for October's Inland Championships at Bewl. Programme generally tidied up.

AGM /Dinner successfully accomplished last night [13th] with superb dinner and fascinating presentation from Arnold Grayston on his circumnavigation around the Principality!  New Chairman and Treasurer to be appointed by the WCOA Committee at February 3rd Committee mtg.  Andy Peter and Alastair Barclay elected to WCOA Committee at last night's AGM.

Jan 8th sees the addition of an integral Search facility [access from the new 'search' link on Site Contents page] which can be used from within the WCOA site to search the www.  In the near future this will be able to conduct searches of just the WCOA site - useful to locate archived and current information by 'keyword' as the site grows in content and complexity.  Additionally the organiser [John Ponsford] for the September Poole Harbour cruise has been added to the Sailing programme

The inclusion of the preliminary 2001 Sailing Programme to the site is the main change for this months update. This lists all known confirmed and TBC racing/cruising events.  Minor mods to the 'Crew wanted' and 'For sale' pages have been made. A link to Newton Crum's 'Stolen Boat List' has also been added and an embedded  link to the 'Clothing' page added to the home page within the WCOA Shop para.  All Xmas decorations removed in readiness for Jan 6th !!  Two reminders for January - The Earls Court Boat Show starts Jan 4th for 2 weeks [note no WCOA representation on Anglo Marine Stand this year] and the WCOA AGM on Jan 13th.  Visit the 'Links Page' for links to Earls Court and Big Blues boat Show web sites.

The new WCOA 'Forum' [see update for Oct 30th below] is doing a lot of business and has some 20 plus contributors both WCOA Members and potential new Wanderer owners/members discussing Wanderer/small open boat sailing issues, however this Forum would benefit from more members input, so why not sigh up for this free service?  While there check out the proposed 2001 events on the group calendar plus the uploaded files.

Some of you will have very recently received an initiation, initiated by me, to subscribe to this free Forum for Wanderer owners and other interested parties indeed some of you have already joined.  For anyone else who has not received this notification please visit this facility [hosted for us by Egroups] and sign up [free] for the Wanderer Forum.  It would be useful if, within your 'profiles' you included your boat number.  

It is early days as yet but soon you will be able to automatically exchange emails with other members, receive automatic notification of any new postings, follow and contribute to 'threaded' discussion groups, check the WCOA calendar, up and download files [pics etc], conduct polls etc.  

I still have some minor configuration tweaks and setting up to do but it is pretty much functional now so why not follow the link above , sign up, add your profile and start contributing.  Perhaps post some accounts of your recent Salcombe visits and/or pictures of your Wanderer activities.   Got any hints and tips on any aspect of the boat or sailing it - then why not post it here for all to see and start a lively debate.  

Please 'spread the word' about this new facility and promote the web site generally among fellow Wanderer owners and your sailing acquaintances.

Update for October 15th 2000  - Apologies but it's been a while since this site was updated! 

The 2000 season is drawing to an end,  so where are all your anecdotes, pictures and racing results from your sailing activities and holidays?  It's not too late to send them to me now for adding to the site and sharing with other members.  That goes for comments/suggestions for the web site too.
Jenny Jeff's [W1330] did just that with her account of the Whitstable 'Drift' and it has been added to the Cruise Reports 2000 index. 
On the photo front, pictures from the Chichester Family Weekend [fun racing and cruising] have been added to the Gallery as have some from the Whitstable Cruise w/e.  
The WCOA [UK] Committee meets on October 28th - any issues?  If so please send directly to the  appropriate committee Member.  top

Update for February 29th 2000 - See you at Sailboat 2000 at Alexandra Palace Sat/Sun March 4/5th on stand number - Row B Block 2 . Additions to site under this revision include - 'Boats For Sale' page added.  New graphics to 'Home' and 'Contents' pages.  'Committee' page now includes pictures of most of the Committee members [you may not consider this an improvement!!]  Links page extended. Important: Notes NB1/2 added to Racing Programme explaining the changes to 'races to count' for two day events.

Update for February 19th 2000 - Sailing Programme finalised and list of organisers added. New FAQ page added on 12:1 kicker topic.  Committee page revised to reflect recent member/role changes and acknowledging non committee members assistance.  Contact for Wanderer Clothing added.  Updated Portsmouth number corrected. Minor adjustments made to frames/home page/contents.  Telephone codes bought into line with April 2000 changes.

Update for February 11th 2000 - A Crew wanted page has been added as requested by members.  Helms requiring crew should simply email, post or telephone details through to the web site manager who will post them to this page. A weather links page has also been added with useful weather reports [select your region/coastal area/city], offshore and inshore, Synoptic charts etc courtesy of the Met office. A link to the RYA's site has been added.

Update for Jan 30th 2000 - Following the agreement passed at the AGM to allow kickers with a ratio of up to 12:1 a copy of the resulting Press Release and pictures of possible 12:1 kicker arrangement have been added to the site.

Web Site Update - Jan 17th AGM Report added with pictures, further Cruising Programme confirmations and general tidying up!. December 12th the site had a bit of a face lift.   A further tweaking was applied on Jan 4th mainly to this and the Sailing programme page.  It now resides within a 'frames' environment that should prove a big improvement in site navigation and visitor orientation - I hope you agree.

The navigation frame to the left of the screen is fixed and allows constant reference and access to all sections within the site.  This will expand as the site grows.  Clicking on any link here will display it in the main dynamic frame.  There are also individual links on most pages, where appropriate, and of course there is always your Browser's 'back' and 'forward' buttons!  The top frame contains the temporary site logo and again is fixed.  New graphics are being developed and will be added soon.

Sailing Programme 2000 - The Programme for 2000 is nearing completion, in fact the racing section is complete.  Some of the cruising venues/dates require confirmation.  Where this applicable they have been marked as such.

Boat Show - We were represented at the Earls Court boat show this year.  Some members shared the Anglo Marine's stand [85E] and answered questions from show visitors.  Promotional material and the 2000 programme was made available. Generally considered successful and worthwhile exercise.

Cruising Reports - Members reports on cruising events, including any photos, have been grouped under the particular season. Clicking on these will take you to a directory listing of the individual reports which can be selected for viewing.  If a pdf {Adobe's Portable Document Format} version of the report exists it will be accessible from the directory.

Anglo Marine's Web Site - The Wanderer manufacturer's have followed our lead and got themselves a web site.  Click here to pay them a visit but remember to come on back!

AGM 2000 - A light hearted report of the AGM of Jan 15th, complete with pictures. Added Jan 17th 2000.

Home Page - As a result of these changes the 'Home Page' will be smaller  with less scrolling needed to view it.
